If Not Us, Then Who?
The motivation behind Racism Rehab is quite simple: we want to end racism now. We find ourselves genuinely perplexed and amazed that after more than 400 years, this issue remains unsolved. In a country capable of putting a person on the moon and eradicating childhood diseases through advanced medical research, it is staggering that we have not yet conquered racism.
In a nation that strives for greatness, the fact that no one has succeeded in this mission is what drives us. What we envision for this country is a massive game-changer. We are here because we believe that together, we are the ones who can finally see a world where love, truth, and understanding flourish. These are the elements needed to heal this nation and ensure a future free from hateful treatment.
The Faces Behind the “Why”
Our coalition is driven by personal conviction and a shared vision for humanity. Below are the core perspectives that fuel our commitment to this work.
My Why?
My Why?
I believe in the power of community and in the lifelong work of listening, learning, collaborating, and changing. For more than a decade, I’ve worked to better understand racism, inequality, and the systems that allow them to continue.
Both hate and racism still exist—they have simply changed formats. If we truly believe in equality, we must be willing to examine uncomfortable truths, set ego aside, listen deeply, and commit to rebuilding systems with equity at the foundation.
My journey has been shaped by stories, music, documentaries, books, history, and the lived experiences of others, especially the parts of history too often left out of classrooms and public conversation. That learning has reinforced the importance of creating spaces where people can speak honestly, think critically, and grow together.
I’ve also seen the power of diversity through building teams, honoring individual strengths, and staying focused on a shared goal while allowing the path to evolve. Real change requires community, humility, and a willingness to keep doing the work.
As a result, I am committed to holding affinity spaces where members of my community are held accountable to ensure that we show up for racial justice and healing.
My own experiences, what I’ve learned, and the stories shared by others all continue to shape my commitment to breaking down inequitable systems and building something better—for all of us.
