Overview:

This is a resource workshop designed to educate the participants on the intersection of religion and racism. The Cross and the lynching Tree are two of the most powerful symbols in the history of the African American community. This workshop explores their interconnection throughout the history of this nation.

Course Format – In this workshop students will complete the following objectives:

• Compare and Contrast the New RRO Definition of Racism
• Analyze The Art of Creating a Liberation Theology that is both Black and Christian.
• Review the Social Constructs of White Supremacy
• Evaluate how Christians have praised the gospel and simultaneously condoned white supremacy for more than three centuries.
• Discuss the mental gymnastics to remain calm and sane while living with the effects of Jim Crow
• Explain the difference between the “terror by night” in the south and the war on terror?
• Describe your thoughts on why lynching and religious practices should or should not be aligned together.
